Its too late for gutsy anyhow, the NPF was on Agust the 30th. If the package 
was to be ready before beta freeze we could have asked an exception but I doubt 
this can be done.
In any case, what was the point of proposing 1.0 for gutsy if 1.0 will be 
obsolete by the time gutsy is out?  It would have been better indeed to have 
1.1 and be working on that.

As things are now, we should be working on a package for Hardy and
review the situation in few months time. If we have libspeex 1.2beta2 by
then (its in debian experimental now) or even better 1.2 we can revise
the package and use, if possible, the repository package.

Justin, what are your plans on this? You wanted to do this, but I
haven't seen much interest from your side.
