SRU candidate: [Impact] * Legacy modules (footprints) were removed in the 0.20131208+bzr4024-1 version of debian. It was quite quickly reported (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736180) that this was too early for cvpcb to behave nicely. Once you get to the "Run CvPcb" part, you get the expected File not found dialog, and then another dialog with
Some files could not be found! sockets.mod connect.mod discret.mod pin_array.mod divers.mod smd_capacitors.mod smd_resistors.mod smd_crystal&oscillator.mod smd_dil.mod smd_transistors.mod libcms.mod display.mod led.mod dip_sockets.mod pga_sockets.mod valves.mod and if you then try to follow along with the tutorial, you can select exactly zero possible footprints for all the components. * Another consequence of the bug is that it gets hard to open old designs. * The fix should be backported to a stable release because a usable version of kicad is desirable for Ubuntu users. * The fix just includes some of the mod-files again which were removed in the 0.20131208+bzr4024-1 version so that cvpcb stops complaining and the footprints become available. [Test Case] * Start kicad - click the cvpcb button - and the error dialog with "Some files could not be found!" and a list of missing files should be gone (after the fix) [Regression Potential] * It just includes some "data" files which were removed, so the regression potential is really irrelevant. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1338168 Title: Footprints missing in kicad making cvpcb unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kicad/+bug/1338168/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
