I had a 9600GT with unbuntu 14.04 and experienced no problem. I changed for a GeForce GTX 750 Ti and this flickering problem appeared. It went out using the workaround of post #48. Now I reverted the workaround of post #48 and I am testing Christopher Townsend's PPA. So far so good, except that I maybe experience more crashes. Also I'm having similar mem usage (see attachement).
