You have been subscribed to a public bug: Trying to format DVD+rw K3B returns message "format failed" I try re-inserting the disk to re-try and same message over and over... Same if I try just burning DVD+rw without formatting.. K3B begins pre-formating then fail message, and again if I re-insert disk to re-try same message over and over. Just once a DVD+rw completed burn, but when I re-inserted that disk after "successful" burn it wont even read.. the machine doesn't even know there is a disk in the drive!! The disk is now a coaster... it happens every time!
If I burn a DVD-r or DVD+r, or CD-r burning completes perfectly and resulting disk works without a problem, and no data errors etc. Just DVD+rw that gives this trouble... and the same machine burned DVD+rw just fine before I switched over from windows so I don't think my drive is at fault. I have tried installing brasero and it has the same issue, I tried purge + re-install of K3B and DVD+rw-tools etc but no joy.
