Public bug reported: I am using a laptop, HP Compaq 6910P and is running Ubuntu 14.04, 32 bit edition. When I start my laptop the fan is running optimally, my processor temperature remains at 60 C at idle. If I start using any intensive program, the temperature raises up to 90 C but the fan is running at the same speed. If I immediately restart the laptop, the fan starts spinning very fast and it doesn't slow down even at idle, when cpu temperature is just 45 C . This happens with the charger connected. If I shut down the laptop and let it cool down for an hour and start it again whithout the charger connected, the fan doesn't spin at all, and it doesn't starts spinning even if the cpu temp reaches 90 C and laptop shuts itself down. The radiator is clean and the thermal paste is new. Please any help ?
