Hi, I have the same freeze on a clevo W655 with a Intel graphic card (With Xubuntu 14.04). So I don't think that's only NVidia driver which cause the bug.
When the laptop freeze, i can stop the freeze by log out and log in with Ctrl+Alt+Del.
