OK, I changed this bug only to the switching issue (Bug #88152 is different).
** Description changed: - I installed Gutsy Tribe 5, restarted PC and tried to switch user - both - worked. Then I installed nvidia driver and restarted to Compiz-enabled - desktop. After I select another user from the fast user switcher applet, - the screen goes black and I must hard reset the PC. + I installed Gutsy Tribe 5, restarted PC and tried to switch user (using + user switcher applet) - and it worked. Then I installed nvidia driver + and restarted PC. After I tried to switch to another user, the screen + went black and I had to hard reset the PC. It doesn't matter whether + Compiz is enabled or not. I have NVidia GeForce4 420 MX, LCD monitor Philips 170B (1280x1024).
