Public bug reported: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release: 14.04
2) apt-cache policy xfwm4 xfwm4: Installed: 4.11.1-2ubuntu2 Candidate: 4.11.1-2ubuntu2 Version table: *** 4.11.1-2ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What is expected to happen in a default Xubuntu install is when one uses the touchpad to scroll down a window in a browser or document, it doesn't start switching through windows randomly. 4) What happens instead is it does. Nobody expects this behavior by default. While it's interesting to have this feature as an available option, having it enabled by default only detracts from the Xubuntu experience. WORKAROUND: Settings -> Window Manager Tweaks -> Workspaces -> uncheck "Use the the mouse wheel on the desktop to switch workspaces" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xfwm4 4.11.1-2ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.47-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Fri May 30 02:45:59 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-05-10 (19 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140416.2) SourcePackage: xfwm4 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xfwm4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: Triaged ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324811 Title: Please disable by default "Use the mouse wheel on the desktop to switch workspaces" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfwm4/+bug/1324811/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
