Whenever a fix for this is released, be sure not to mark the bug as fixed UNTIL it is guarantee that anybody that has had to run thorough any of the workarounds described in this thread won't end up with the system screwed up again AT THE NEXT DIST UPGRADE (because of the reinstall of grub or whatever). Fixing this bug means also making sure that everything is fixed for those who were hit.
Also, this must block the release of the next distribution upgrade, i.e. upgrade to 14.10 must NOT be released until this bug is made sure to be completely fixed (in the sense specified above). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
