Hi Christopher, Since it's a production server, I couldn't update the bios right away. But today I convinced my colleagues to go home early so I could take that machine offline ;)
Before I updated the bios, I did a fresh install of 14.04 and noticed that the strange processes weren't there. I noticed they were back while importing the zfs pools. Unfortunatly I can't say if it's caused by the zfs modules, because I already installed some other updates/ packages. I got myself a fresh install of 14.04 again to see if the bios update would fix this problem. root@*****:~# sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date F12 07/05/2012 All processes look fine now, but I haven't installed zfs yet.
