I had to stop using Ubuntu because no one could tell me how to recover from the error. It occurred constantly and was reproducible. No one was able to explain what the error code meant, how to troubleshoot the problem and how to fix it. The same PC is running Debian Etch w/o problems. It would appear that the Gnome developers have inserted error cides that thet themsleve do not know how to interpret, and they do not know how to fix.
