Public bug reported: On most boots of my machine, the grub boot menu is not drawn. The background color appears as a thin border around the edge of the screen, but no menu is visible and grub does not appear to respond to keyboard input. The system boots normally after this, but only to the default entry.
At one time this appeared to be correlated to boot vs. reboot, with boots working normally and reboots displaying no menu, but I have also seen cold boots where the menu does not appear so I no longer believe this to be the case. However, it does seem that the menu is more likely to display on a cold boot than a reboot.
