Public bug reported:

PSPP is a statistical analytical software[1]. the present stable version
is 0.8.3 which was released on 25th April, 2014[2]. the earlier stable
version, 0.8.2, was released on 14th January, 2014[2].

unfortunately, the version of PSPP present in the repository, is not the
latest one. instead, it was almost 2 years old (0.7.9, compiled from git
repository on 02/06/2012).

the old version is lacking in many features, eg, logistic regression.
the stable version could be downloaded[2] or compiled from git[3]; but
the benefit of repository is not available.
