Public bug reported: PSPP is a statistical analytical software[1]. the present stable version is 0.8.3 which was released on 25th April, 2014[2]. the earlier stable version, 0.8.2, was released on 14th January, 2014[2].
unfortunately, the version of PSPP present in the repository, is not the latest one. instead, it was almost 2 years old (0.7.9, compiled from git repository on 02/06/2012). the old version is lacking in many features, eg, logistic regression. the stable version could be downloaded[2] or compiled from git[3]; but the benefit of repository is not available. links: [1]- http://www.gnu.org/software/pspp/ [2]- http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/pspp/ [3]- http://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=pspp ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: pspp (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.47-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Sat May 10 17:03:04 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-16 (24 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20140326) SourcePackage: pspp UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: pspp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318160 Title: pspp version not being udated to the latest stable release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pspp/+bug/1318160/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
