Confirmed, shutting off the 'application menu' fixes my issues with
pidgin.


Steps:
1. Right click the Indicator-application
2. Left click on 'Properties'
3. Select 'Application Menus (Global Menu)' by checking the 'Hidden' checkbox.
4. Restasrt the Indicator-application (this is easy, just pullup your app that 
is crashing it).
