Thank you for confirming. There are two erratic conditions reported in this bug:
1. Unfocused window is not refreshed properly (garbage repeated content) when scrolled over by a mouse. 2. One window just suddenly minimized to a bare strip or 10 x 50 mm miniscule window. Apparently the second bug happens with Open Office Libre (Calc, Writer), Firefox, Thunderbird. Hence it is maybe a problem having something to do with Window management rather than Open Office. Reported (for Firefox incident) in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1311983 Please kindly forward this to (a) person(s) with competence, as it is beyond my competence to identify which package is affected and how to reproduce.
