Public bug reported: This seems like a regression from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/664030 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/211632 I am experiencing an issue in 14.04, but it says fix is released. I did not have the issue on 13.10 with VLC 2.1.2. Step to reproduce: 1. Mount a SMB share. 2. Open VLC and select File > Open > Directory (select smb folder). Dragging and dropping the files in the directory to the playlist works. Interestingly, dragging and dropping the folder does not.
