Done kernel upgrade. Still having same problems.
New kernel also broke my WiFi, and now Ubuntu asks me verification (pass enter)
of my wifi connection in endless loop.
As for hdpram that didn't work also.
Load/Unload Cycle Count still climbing fast under Linux.
