Public bug reported: After closing laptop lid (Asus Zenbook UX31A), letting computer go to sleep and opening the lid again, the backlight is always off. After adjusting the backlight with Fn+F3/F4 I can see that it does remember the old setting. For example if I put the backlight to max-1, close the lid, open it and then press Fn+F4 (brigther) the backlight goes to max brightness and the indicator shows it correctly.
This was working OK in Ubuntu 13.10, upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS broke the setting. If there are some logs or other debug information I can give, I'm happy to do that. I just don't know where to look at. ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316647 Title: Keyboard backlight is always off when opening laptop lid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1316647/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
