Tested latest upstream kernel  3.15 (and disabled workaround described
above), problem persists.

Note that the first few suspends are often successful (either kernel).
I'm still trying to figure out what the key element is that gets the
system into the state where suspend fails every time - it may be connect
/ disconnect AC.
