Including a stable version of gThumb (i.e. the 3.2 series) in Trusty
would make a lot of sense, considering it's an LTS release focused on
stability. There are definitely a lot of bugs in the 3.3 series, from
minor to fairly major (e.g. the image rendering speed being very slow
compared to the 3.2 series, see:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726087).

The 3.3 series might look nice on GNOME, but in no other DE, including
Unity (which is of course Ubuntu's default). It seems that you can't
even access the preferences menu in a non-GNOME DE.

Sorry I can't sponsor; bug filing hits the limit of this medieval
history grad student's computer skills. -_-;
