Xubuntu Feisty. What I wanted to tell is that the feature ACTUALLY WORKS. When I do the same thing in Windows Explorer the scrolling automatically happens when I happen to type a file name that is not within the window viewport. That behavior does not occur in thunar. Imagine that I have file names with the letters A through Z. But the current directory listing shows only filenames from A-F.i.e, the G-Z part is on the other side of the view which can be accessed by scrolling horizontally. To select a file with a name "Zulu" I start typing "Zulu" and the file "Zulu" *does actually get selected* (I ascertained this by pressing the return key and the file opened). However the horizontal scrolling does not happen automatically. To reproduce this, do the following:
1) Switch to Compact List View (Turn off settings "Sort folders before files", "Show thumbnails", "Text beside icons") 2) Traverse to a folder with enough files such that a horizontal scrollbar appears. 3) Type a file name (that actually exists on the folder) that is not present within the thunar window viewport. Hope this helps. Jérôme Guelfucci wrote: > Thank you for your bug report. I can't reproduce with thunar in Feisty > or Gutsy.
