Public bug reported: On a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 beta2 install, I did
> sudo aptitude install steam > steam Which failed to start. The error has scrolled away in my console now, but it was very similar to this error: http://askubuntu.com/questions/421167/libgl-error-couldnt-dlopen- libudev-so-1-or-libudev-so-0-driver-detection-may : > libGL error: Couldn't dlopen libudev.so.1 or libudev.so.0, driver detection > may be broken. > steam: ../../../../src/loader/loader.c:129: asserted_dlsym: Assertion > `result' failed. After doing as that link suggests and installing libudev1:i386 , steam worked. ** Affects: steam (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: gallery2 (Ubuntu) => steam (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299296 Title: Steam fails to start because it needs libudev1:i386 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam/+bug/1299296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
