Timo: probably my poor english is not helping to understand each other. Anyway, what I say is that when I reconfigure xserver-xorg I can start X, and this is true both if the standard xserver is installed and if I upgrade to your patched xserver. But I noted that launching X, using the original xorg.conf, after installing your patched xserver doesn't work, so it appears to me that your patch doesn't change the situation. I am not an expert about X, but I believe that it could be interesting to see what happens if I boot a live-cd with your patched xserver.
