Hi Rohan. No offense meant here, but people have been trying, without success, to get Mozilla to honor KDE settings since 2002: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140751. It appears that this type of patch would never be introduced because of the need to add KDE-specific deps, which Mozilla apparently avoids like the plague.
Since we know: (1) 14.04 is a LTS AND (2) We can (hopefully!!) expect a lot of Win XP refugees to be coming to Linux in the next few years Having the present user experience in Kubuntu of a stock Firefox is just "not good" from a usability standpoint since there is no native integration. At minimum, the Blue Shell firefox PPA should be a dependency. Even that still would not address this bug, however. IMHO, Chromuim would have been a much better default. It's long been the default in Lubuntu (and I think others). Added to the fact that now Chromium is now GTK-less (http://tech- beta.slashdot.org/story/14/03/12/0147256/google-to-replace-gtk-with-its- own-aura-in-chrome), this would make much more sense to me. And the Kubunut Devs could keep current Chromium builds in our own PPA's if needed as I know this was a concern in the past... Wildly off-topic here except for the fact that a new user's perception is my main concern here, and I'm not convinced we are doing users justice here by just throwing in a default Firefox build that in addition to all the reasons why the Blue Shell PPA has to exist, web pages as I have shown above will be unreadable if a user so much as decides to change themes to a darker one, even IF that darker theme is part of the default Kubuntu .iso, as is the case with Obsidian Coast, which is what the situational environment was with this bug.
