I went back to Lucid but couldn't stay on because no more supported. Furthermore I installed lightdm on it as explained on author's blog, and after rebooting xorg finished as before last Precise: white mouse on black screen.
Not touching lightdm anymore since not compatible with no Ubuntu. Buttons ON/OFF did work well, but did not tryed lshw although I have log files if you want (except for xorg wich wasn't generated). Now on Precise ON/OFF buttons do not work. Opened PC, it entered without the BIOS "black" waiting screen directely inside Ubuntu. Very weird not to have to wait neither to press any button, and yet it was no electricity before. (I opened laptop and pressed button, but while I pressed saw was already in Ubuntu so had no need to press whatsoever and button did not do anything at start). In this Precise I had choosen password to enter at beginning, not in last Precises. Going to try passing into Trusty to see if more stable then Precise in what concern buttons. Although have read Trusty is still a beta version but not for long, 3days. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1296263 Title: gnome-power-manager may be related to black screen and auto-power-on noise and Xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1296263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
