I don't think so since this doesn't happen with Kubuntu afaik. It has something to do with the Gnome "screen resolution". If I correct the wrong resolution with the Gnome tool it works (at least in Feisty) but after logout GDM still has the wrong resolution. Maybe it has something to do with the combination of Gnome with xrandr since xrandr always lists the wrong resolution 1368x768 too and Gnome resolution tool uses the highest possible resolution of xrandr.
