Thanks for your report! Let me comment on the guest session aspects. In Ubuntu 14.04 the desktop guide (Ubuntu Help) will show how you can disable the guest session feature:

Actually, in 14.04 a dialog will show up when you enter a guest session which suggests that the guest saves their work on some external device, since they can't save it on disk by default.
