In Ubuntu 14.04 the desktop guide (Ubuntu Help) will show how you can
disable the guest session feature:

In 13.10 you would need to place that file in
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d instead.

Why?

Actually, in 14.04 a dialog will show up when you enter a guest session
which suggests that the guest saves their work on some external device,
since they can't save it on disk by default. (OTOH that dialog can be
disabled.)

If you would like to keep the guest session feature enabled, but prevent
the guests from using external devices, you would need to tweak the
AppArmor rules (/etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/lightdm).
