Public bug reported:

I upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 and one of the artifacts that appeared
after the upgrade was that I was not able to lock the screen.

I have tried using Ctrl-Alt-L as well as running gnome-screensaver -l
and in both cases the screen goes blank but then activity just brings
everything back with out asking for a password or anything.

This also happens when I suspend the laptop. When I open the lid I find
myself immediatly in the descktop instean of having to unlock my screen
as I would normaly do.
