Public bug reported:

In Edgy, I am unable to enter Unicode code points directly as I was able
to do in Dapper. I cannot find any information on this, so I am not
able to assume that a new system has been developed for Unicode
character entry.

For example, using Dapper, I was able to type Ctrl+Shift+2122 to produce
the Trademark (tm) symbol, Ctrl+Shift+3c0 to produce the pi character,
and Ctrl+Shift+2014 for the em dash. These no longer work under Edgy.

I do not have the slightest clue as to what package to report this bug
against, so I am sorry that it is currently not associated with
anything.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
