I have edited your description for clarity! Thanks for reporting this bug.
Just to confirm, are you using the commercial or the open source (fglrx ?) drivers. Have you tried getting the commercial drivers from the Ubuntu restricted drivers manager (System > Administration > Restricted drivers manager) ** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati - Alright. I was told to try reporting the bug here, because so far nothing- and I mean NOTHING- has worked. - So, before I begin, here's my MOBO/video card combo, because the person who reffered me said that that was probably what caused this. - No, I cannot buy a new card. I'm already in debt to my parents, and I'm not old enough to get a job. (close, but yet so far.) - Ennyways, here it is: - ATI Radeon 9200 (PCI) (NOTE: It is NOOOOOOOOOT SE, nor is it a pro. It's JUST 9200. Yeah, I know, piece of crap. It ran Half-Life 2 on Windows, I was happy.) - Mach Speed MK8-939A socket 939 ATX + Graphics card: ATI Radeon 9200 (PCI) (Not SE, Not Pro) + Motherboard: Mach Speed MK8-939A socket 939 ATX - Now, about my problems. - I can only boot the Xserver with the vesa driver. - Yes, I HAVE tried ALL the ati tutorials I can find. None have worked. Like I said, probably a hardware conflict. - The ati driver is at 6.3.3, or something like that. + Xserver can only be booted using the VESA driver + I'm running Ubuntu feisty Fawn 7.0.4.
