Hi, I have the same problem in a Laptop too. In windows, the camera appears as a Chicony USB 2.0 Camera. In Ubuntu 7.04 and in Ubuntu 7.10, the camera is not detected properly and doesn't work. Attached I send the information resquested. If you need more information, let me know.
