Public bug reported: I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW250J laptop and the hotkey for suspending (FN + F12) is mapped as brightness up instead. I followed the instructions on Ubuntu wiki for troubleshooting hotkeys and found out with the help of "evtest" that the hotkey is recognized as "Event code 225 (KEY_BRIGHTNESSUP)" instead of "Event code 205 (KEY_SUSPEND)". I have pasted the evtest report below. This has persisted for several Ubuntu version (, but I failed to report it until now because of procrastination).
