To avoid any confusion, I first remark that my last message (2014-01-19) about the boot failure concerned booting from live DVD. Of course, I am not able to install the system on the machine's hard drive.
As far as I remember, I have never met such an issue before. For example, I have successfully installed ubuntu 13.10 on the machine. Today I tried newer development version of ubuntu 64-bit, dated to 21st January. The problem is the same as mentioned above: it is not possible to boot the machine from the live DVD. The boot process stops as described above. I am sure that I have correctly burnt the iso image: I even used a different medium than in my previous test and the problem is the same. I do not know how to use information on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot for problems with live DVD boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1255104 Title: HP ZBook, live ubuntu 13.10: freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1255104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
