I second pdknsk's suggestion. There might be some rare situation in which a notification before going to sleep could be helpful, but in a typical scenario, being inactive implies that a user is not watching the screen anyway. On the other hand, I suppose that users that are silently reading on the screen would actually be pleased by a notification. Having them in mind, I would suggest to replace the notification window with an onscreen message through empathy.
