[UPDATE]

Solved my gnome-shell-issue from above by creating a symbolic link for
the libwayland-egl.so.1 :

 # ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa-egl/libwayland

But "telinit u" still crashes the machine!
