Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

A file system check is run every 21st boot.

I'm not sure if you consider this a "feature", but it's pretty
disturbing because it makes me wait a long time (Ubuntu already boots up
slowly enough for me and now that...). Also, Windows never did this to
me, so why does Ubuntu need to check my system even though I shut it
down correctly? I mean, if it wasn't shut down correctly then I can at
least accept that it has to check the system (though, wasn't journalling
invented to prevent exactly that?), but why does the system have to
disturb me like that without any good reason? Could you pretty please
fix this "usability bug"? Thank you very much!
