Same problem here on a Acer Travelmate P255. The laptop will not shutdown, even with a terminal code. Restart and log out works fine. I have only one account. I have a broadcom wireless adapter........but i be afraid to do what Andrew Naito says.....
If you have a broadcom wireless adapter, you can remove the default installed with sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source Since my MX6454 has a 4311 installed, I installed b43 (b43 linux wireless) sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
because when its not working, i dont's have a driver for my broadcom wireless then. So i still be waiting for a solution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242907 Title: The Shutdown button does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1242907/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
