Okay, I installed the mainline kernel and can confirm I'm running it
after a reboot:

chorton@chorton-LIFEBOOK-T900:~$ uname -a
Linux chorton-LIFEBOOK-T900 3.11.8-031108-generic #201311122252 SMP Wed Nov 13 
03:53:29 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Unfortunately, after suspending and resuming, I still encounter the bug.
