Public bug reported:

Description: Ubuntu 13.10
Release: 13.10

VPN usage has several usability issues in plasma-nm in saucy. To
reproduce this behaviour define at least 4 different network connections
and a VPN connection.

* Finding VPN connections requires clicking open menu and scrolling with
mouse wheel with no indication that this can be done.

* When I click the VPN icon it does not connect me but instead it
expands the list further with no visual indication other than the
appearance of settings icon on the right. The user has to once again
blindly scroll down and press the connect button. If following the
doplhin way of doing things a single click should activate the
connection. Now single click expands an invisible menu and double click
does nothing. You'd expect at least double click to connect.

* When VPN connection is active on a wired connection the logo displayed
is the jack with prohibition sign on it making the user think that the
network is somehow disabled or an error has occured. Not that the
connection is secured.

To fix this I suggest the following

* Change the icon to one where there is a lock something indicating encryption
over the jack.
* If there are more entries than can be displayed without scrolling, display a
scroll bar
* Make the icons smaller and/or use less spacing in the list.
* When clicking a disconnected connection make it connect directly.

** Affects: plasma-nm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Package changed: knetworkmanager (Ubuntu) => plasma-nm (Ubuntu)
