Checking in with the same exact issue as Captain Chaos. Attempting to install Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.10 and Debian 7.1.0 on an MSI GS70 2OD.
VGA: Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M/2GB GDDR5 HDD: 750GB 7200RPM+128GB SSD Installs were attempted via USB as well as via CDROM. Attempting to boot live session (Try Ubuntu) fails with "divide error: 0000 [#1] SMP" Attempting to install fails with "divide error: 0000 [#1] SMP" I could not get the read out on the Debian attempts, but I would assume it to be the same. Various acpi settings were attempted. Including nomodeset, etc with no indication of a different result. I have not attempted a non-debian based install, but that will be what I attempt next. Any insight to this at all? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225646 Title: Hangs booting with HDMI+VGA divide error: 0000 [#1] SMP; RIP: 0010:[<ffffffffa01eec90>] [<ffffffffa01eec90>] nve4_graph_init+0x250/0x7e0 [nouveau] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1225646/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
