This bug also affects me. I was a Gnome 3.8 user on 12.10 using Gnome from their official PPA. Upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 and everything was OK. I added the GNOME3 Next PPA, upgraded to Shell 3.10 and shortcut & FN keys stopped working.
Any time I press a shortcut key, a line is logged in ~/.cache/upstart /gnome-settings-daemon.log: (gnome-settings-daemon:4972): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: Dropping signal AcceleratorActivated of type (uuu) since the type from the expected interface is (uu) I tried forcing gnome-settings-daemon to use the version from official Ubuntu repositories, but that didn't help. I installed Ubuntu GNOME Remix 13.10 in a VM and applied the GNOME3 Next PPA and was able to reproduce the problem. So as it stands at the moment, shortcut & FN keys do not work for those on 3.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1217196 Title: Keyboard shortcuts not working with GNOME 3.9.90 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1217196/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
