@Christopher I just reported a duplicate of this bug ( #1242451 ) and I have tested your PPA, it indeed fixes the scrolling behaviour for me, much thanks for your effort! I filled the duplicate errornously against Compiz, because it first seems I couldn't reproduce with other WMs, but after seeing that this is considered to be GTK3 issue, I tried more window managers and found out that IceWm is also affected - so it really seems to be not related only to Compiz.
