After stopping lighdm sudo stop lightdm and switching to VirtualTerminal1 with CTRL-ALT-F1 and starting mir server with sudo mir_demo_server_shell and switching to VirtualTerminal2 with CTRL-ALT-F2 and sudo run mir_demo_client_scroll and switching back to VirtualTerminal1 with CTRL-ALT-F1
demo is working.
