Hi! I upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 and have the same problem. I launch linux-image-3.11.0-12-generic in safe mode and it freezes by "pcmcia_socket: cs: I0 port probe excluding". I have to boot with linux-image-3.8.0-31-generic I am willing to help to solve the issue but I don't really know what to do next.
