Sorry I'll not be able to do another round of upstream testing. The machine where the USB network adapters are connected to is in a production environment, so it'll be much cheaper for the customer to use kernel 2.6.38 as long as possible and then simply get rid of those adapters, instead of scheduling another downtime and maintenance work.
