This behavior (fans spinning on suspend, power off after a minute) is
consistently reproducible at least back to 3.11.0-4.  I definitely did
not experience this problem while 3.11.0-4 was current.  So it looks
like something else may have changed to cause this bug.

I am able to reproduce the failure even by running pm-suspend manually
from the console (VT1).  I normally run thinkfan, but I've disabled it
in the startup and changed the module options to disallow fan control;
none of these changes make any difference, the failure is consistently
reproducible (at this point, approximately 100% of the time).
