Public bug reported:

Using a Lenovo Laptop X220 with 13.10 beta2:

The soundcard is a built-in Intel one.

Problem: no sound after the upgrade from Raring to Saucy beta2.

A second screen is attached over HDMI, and the sound outputs to
"Internal Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)" while the default "Internal Audio
Analog Stereo" is grayed out.

Solution: running systemsettings with kdesudo I found that there is no
default profile set in the Pulseaudio settings. Selecting any one makes
the default internal Audio output available again.
