I've been living with this problem (on 2 900X3C's) and have just noticed something that might point to a solution.
I have all the problems/symptoms described above (no charge/drain recognition, no kb backlight, no lid-close notification, has magically appeared at times of OS install.) But, htop (after going into the settings and displaying the battery state) correctly picks up the a/c cable insertion/removal, charging/discharging indication, and fully charged state. So, htop is getting this information from somewhere that's spot on, but (in my case xfce4-power-manager, and I'm guessing upowerd) are looking elsewhere and not getting the correct information. Not sure if it's going to help, but maybe it might point to a workaround at least. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971061 Title: acpi reports battery state incorrectly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/acpi/+bug/971061/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
