I have seen this issue over the weekend while dogfooding the phone. Still no reliable way to reproduce for me, but some more observations:
* Confirming the futex observations. strace prints WAKE_ON_FUTEX messages repeatedly while in this state. * Attaching gdb showed that there is one thread called "dconf worker" with a stack depth of over 2000. Probably some corrupt stack but I think worth investigating if the dconf integration might be the cause for this. One difference I noticed is that once in this state, waking up the screen does not fix it any more. Only restarting unity8 gets it quiet again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1219871 Title: when idle with screen blank, unity8 generates hundreds of context switches per second To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1219871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
