For what it's worth, I haven't encountered a hard freeze using zram with
both the 3.12-rc1 and rc2 kernels.  Using the 3.11.x kernels from the
official repository, I am able to trigger a system lockup very easily
(e.g. running several Eclipse instances, or compiling a large project,
etc.)
